Tri-fold Card

Whew! I've been busy this week finishing up my entry for the Stampin' Up Artisan Award Contest. I finally completed my entire and entry and it is ready for me to drop off in the mail on Monday. I spent a lot of time on my entry and I had a lot of fun in the process, which is what matters most. I know the odds of winning are slim, but I'm just happy that I got my entry together and will be participating in the contest. It really is a great feeling no matter the results, to know that you put forth your effort into something meaningful.

Anyways, I just wanted to post this card up before the weekend. It's a trifold card that Beate did a tutorial on. I have never made one of these before and decided to try it out because it looked really fun! It was quite simple and I also go to use my new Rebecca paper that I got recently but never got the chance to use yet.

Supplies: Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley, CS: Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Rebecca Paper, Ink: Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Accessories: Rose Grosgrain Ribbon

Anyways, I have a wedding to go to this weekend in Sacramento. I wish you all a great weekend I hope everyone gets to do something fun and relaxing!

Be Happy Card

Well, I'm about ready to call it a night, but I just wanted to share this card I made with you all first! I used the Be Happy stamp set that I got at convention last year. This is a hard set for me to use because the ideas don't really come to me naturally. I decided to challenge myself to use it and this is what I came up with.

Here's what I used:

Stamps: Be Happy, On the Spot
CS: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pixie Pink, So Saffron. Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Versamark, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Paper Crimper, Chocolate Grosgrain, Stapler, White Embossing Powder

I guess that's about it and now I'm off to get some shut eye!

A Couple of Cards

I got around to making these two cards this weekend. I got inspired to use my chipboard for a project, as I haven't really used much of it before. I covered it with the Loves Me DS paper from the Winter Mini, tied some Rose grosgain around it and added a hodgepodge clip. For the sentiment, I used white EP for the words and also embossed around the edges of the piece. I adhered it with a dimensional.

CS: Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose

For the next card, I felt like whipping out my Bella stamps. When I went to the stamp show last week, I got some organization supplies for my unmounted stamps. Now my unmounted stamps are really neat and in place and that made me want to use them! I used a variety of materials on this card starting with Prismacolors and Gamsol to color in the image.

Stamps: Stamping Bella, Amuse Oval, Circle of Friendship, Petals & Paisleys
CS: Bazzill, Apricot Appeal, Basic Black
Ink: White Craft, Black
PP: Friends & Flowers Simply Scrappin' Kit
Accessories: Black Gingham, SU Stampin' Write Marker, Nesting Circle Punces

I made this card with my new stamp from the stamp show I went to this past Sunday. It's by a Hawaiian company called Taj. I thought their images were so cute and bought a bunch of them! This is the first card I made with their stamps. I stamped thei imaged on watercolor paper and colored it in with watercolor crayons. I can't get enough of my cuttlebug folders and am finding a way to use them in so many of my cards now.

Supplies:
Stamps: Taj of Honolulu, Warmest Regards
CS: Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Barely Banana
Ink: Black, Pixie Pink
Accessories: Tiny Mosaic Cuttlebug Folder, Brads from Joanns, SU ticket corner punch

Here's a digi page I made last night of my sister in law from her birthday party. I am not really that good on the computer with this digi stuff, but I am having a lot of fun learning and experimenting with it! I am happy with the way this one came out!

Scrapbooking Fun

Recently, I purchased a copy of 52 Scrapbooking Challenges by Elsie Flannigan. The book is so cute and I love it! This page is one that I scraplifted from the book. I really adore Elsie's style. It's so colorful and playful and fun! For this page, I used Bazzill CS, PP and ribbon from KI Memories Kiss Me Collection, Prima Flowers and Joann's brads. I painted the letters with acrylic paint and then traced around the with a black marker. I added in the white polka dots with my white gel pen from Stampin' Up. I also painted around the edge of my photo with white acrylic paint. This photo is from Valentine's Day this year, where had a fun evening at home ordering sushi take out.

Stamping Fun this Weekend

Wow, the end of last week and this past weekend were super busy for me and I wasn't able to do anything creative until yesterday. On Saturday, I went a stamp show that was so much fun! I was really overwhelmed because there were so many stamps and product demonstrations and it was major sensory overload! I had a blast and I also won a door prize!! I won a set of acrylic block and a gift certificate for one of the booths. Woohoo! I bought some fun things which I hope to be able to play with more this week.

For the first card I made, I used the Bodacious Bouquet Brass Stencil Template and my new translucent embossing paste that I bought at the show. I used repositionable tape to adhere the brass stencil to cardstock. Then I added color with chalks and sponge daubers. I spread a layer of the embossing paste over the stencil and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it. I cut out my flower and added the leaves and then used a dimensional to adhere it to the card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Warmest Regards
CS: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Barely Banana
Ink: Lavender Lace
Accessories: Bodacious Bouquet Brass Stencil, Cuttlebug Folders: Bloom Dots & Tiny Mosaic, Joann's ScrapEssentials Brads

The 2nd card, I CASE'd from Debbie Olson. I needed to make a wedding card and instead of reinventing the wheel, I decided to CASE her.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Harmony
CS: Whisper White, Palm Plum, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Creamy Caramel, White Craft
Accessories: Cuttlebug Folder: Script, Textile, Marvy Giga Scallop Oval, CM oval cutters, White grosgrain ribbon, Making Memories eyelets

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Oops! I Did the Wrong Color!

After I posted yesterday, I realized I did the wrong color for the color challenge! I guess I was seeing things when I saw Rose Red when indeed, it said Regal Rose! I kept re-reading it and I could have sworn it said Rose Red! Oh well! LOL! I decided to make another one, this time with the right colors for the challenge. I also took upon part of today's card sketch challenge, which has an angled piece. I used another Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder. I am having a lot of fun with these!

Here are the supplies I used:
Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley, Circle of Friendship
Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Regal Rose, white craft
Accessories: Cuttlebug A2 Folder (can't remember the name of this one), ivory organza ribbon, chocolate grosgrain ribbon, circle punches, Markers: chocolate chip, regal rose, certaintly celery, rhinestones

Cuttlebug & Color Challenge

Yay! My Cuttlebug embossing folders arrived today! I got them from Joann.com where they are all on sale and have free shipping! What better deal could you ask for? I'm also a member of the Joann's affiliate program, so if you are interested in ordering any Cuttlebug products or any other products from Joann's, I'd be so grateful if you would order it through my links! You can use the links from this post, or click on my Joann's coupon icon in my side bar if you scroll down this page.

Well, here's a card I made today with my new Cuttlebug folder and with today's SCS color challenge, which is Rose Red, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery. Chocolate Chip was optional and I added that in as well. I sponged Choco Chip ink over the embossed Cuttlebug design just so it would show up more. For the flowers, I stamped in Rose Red craft ink and used heat & stick powder and dazzling diamonds (kinda hard to see in the pic).

Supplies:
Stamps: Love It, Polka Dots & Petals, Small Script
CS: Rose Red, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Rose Red craft, Rose Red classic, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Cuttlebug Bloom Dots A2 Embossing Folder, Chocolate Grosgrain, sponge, Brads from Joanns, Ticket Corner Punch, 1/8th hole punch, large oval punch, heat & stick powder, dazzling diamonds.

Foam Stamp Storage

I discovered a new way to store foam stamps from a video tutorial on Nth Creative and wanted to share it. All you do is get a binder and velcro the foam stamps inside. Now you can see a nice display of foam stamps and they won't fall out. I was really happy to have discovered this method because I've had my Making Memories foam stamps and never used them because they were so difficult to take in and out of the little package they came in. I hope to be using these stamps more now!

Yesterday, I went to the grand opening of a new Michaels in my neighborhood. They gave out free $10 gift cards to the first 100 customers and I'm happy to say that I got 2 of them! My husband was nice enough to come with me so we each got one. There was pretty good turnout at the grand opening and I really had a blast! I'm looking forward to many more trips there!
